WATCH: Protests continue for ninth day Saturday in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — Protesters are gathering for the ninth day in a row Saturday in Indianapolis.

On Saturday afternoon, they were gathering at the Indiana Statehouse.

A curfew will go in effect at 8 p.m. Saturday night.

9:59 a.m.
Protesters gathered at 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot at North United Methodist Church near East 38th and North Meridian Streets. With horns honking, music playing and chants of "No justice, no sleep!," they drove north to Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett's neighborhood at East 82nd and North Pennsylvania Streets.

9:53 p.m.
It appears protesters are starting to leave for the night. Organizers told people to come together at 5:30 a.m. Sunday for a protest in another part of the city.

9:48 p.m.
They are now back at Monument Circle again.

9:25 p.m.
The group has now stopped in front of the City-County Building.

Things appear to still be peaceful.

Protesters are now marching again. They are chanting "if we don't get it, shut it down."

Protests have remained peaceful this evening. Police have been seen nearby. Some officers are on bikes. Indiana State Police troopers and members of the Indiana National Guard have been seen at different sites downtown, like the Indiana War Memorial.

Protesters are now circling up at the intersection of Ohio and Pennsylvania streets.

The protesters are stopping at the mural for Chris Beaty to "honor him." Beaty was shot and killed during the protests last weekend in Indy.

U.S. Rep. Andre Carson tweeted about the protests he attended earlier today.

"A huge thanks to the seven women who organized this impactful protest," Carson said in another tweet.

Protesters are marching in the street near Vermont and Delaware streets

A curfew is now in effect for Marion County until 6 a.m. Sunday. Protesters are marching through downtown Indy.

Aliya Wishner, Chief Communications Officer for the City of Indianapolis, released the following statement regarding traffic closures near downtown ahead of the 8 p.m. curfew.

"Ahead of the 8pm curfew in effect tonight in Marion County, diversions for inbound traffic to downtown are beginning. These diversions extend from the White River on the west, I-65 on the north, I-65 on the east, to McCarty/I-70 on the south. Exceptions include individuals traveling directly to or from work, seeking medical care, or fleeing from dangerous circumstances; law enforcement and first responders; members of the news media; federal, state, or local public officials conducting necessary work; and individuals experiencing homelessness. The curfew in Marion County will be in effect from 8pm tonight (June 6) until 6am tomorrow morning (June 7).

Traffic within the mile square is currently impacted by groups leaving the downtown area. Delays should be expected."
