INDIANAPOLIS -- AT&T customers across the Midwest reported outages Friday evening.
The outages appear to have begun around 7:00 p.m. ET and affected customers in multiple states including much of Indiana.
According to Outage.Report customers the outages affected parts of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky and multiple states surrounding them. Large outages were reported as far west as Missouri and as far east as New York. Service was mostly restored Saturday morning.
AT&T customer service responded to customers on social media saying that there were outages in the area and they were "working to stabilize" the service.
The company issued a statement Friday evening saying they were aware of the issues and investigating them.
"We are aware of a service issue which may be affecting some wireless customers in areas of Southcentral Illinois, Southern Indiana and Kentucky, and we’re investigating the issue and will work to resolve it as quickly as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience."
