FAIRLAND — A southern Indiana woman was killed Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate-74 in Shelby County.
Indiana State Police and emergency personnel were called around 10:45 a.m. to I-74 westbound near the 107-mile marker on the report of a single-vehicle crash, according to a press release from ISP. When they arrived, they found one person who was ejected from the car and one person trapped in the car.
Samantha Boyer, 28, of Vevay, was killed in the crash, according to the release. A passenger in the car was removed by firefighters and taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
Investigators say Boyer's vehicle ran off the interstate, came back on the interstate, went off the road and rolled several times before coming to a rest.
Boyer was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and alcohol is not suspected of being a factor in the crash.
The identity of the passenger has not been released.
