BLOOMINGTON — A woman was struck and killed Thursday afternoon moments after a Bloomington Transit bus left the transit center.
Bloomington Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called around 11:45 a.m. to the area near Walnut and 3rd streets on the report of a crash involving a bus and a woman, BPD Capt. Ryan Pedigo said in a press release. She later died.
Investigators say the bus had just left the transit center when the woman was hit, Pedigo said.
At this time, investigators are looking for any video from the bus or nearby of the crash, Pedigo said.
No foul play is suspected, Pedigo said.
An autopsy is scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday, Monroe County Coroner Joani Shields said.
The identity of the woman has not been released.
