ZIONSVILLE — Police made an arrest in the shooting death of a man near a popular walking trail.
According to a release from the Zionsville Police Department, James Earl Hughes, 23, was arrested and charged with murder for the killing of Samuel T. Bennett.
Bennett's body was found April 28 in a retention pond near the Big-4 Rail Trail in Zionsville. An autopsy showed he had been shot twice.
Hughes was taken into custody in Indianapolis and is being held at the Boone County Jail without bail.
