LONG ISLAND, N.Y. -- A 17-year-old girl from Long Island, New York has a reason to celebrate.
Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna, a senior at Elmont Memorial High School, was accepted to all 12 colleges she applied, and all eight Ivy League schools, via Huffington Post.
That's Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale.
She's said she wants to pursue a science-related career. She's received an invite to the White House Science Fair.
If the name of the school seems familiar, it's because a similar student went there last year. The school's salutatorian last year, Harold Ekeh, was accepted to all eight Ivy League schools.
Uwamanzu-Nna is the daughter of Nigerian immigrants, and she credits her family and teachers for her success.
