Man struck and killed by vehicle near Indianapolis airport

INDIANAPOLIS – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday morning near the Indianapolis International Airport.

Emergency responders were called just before 5 a.m. to the area of the 7800 block of West Washington Street on the report of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.

Police said the man was somewhere in the road when he was struck by an SUV.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene by medics. The identity of the man has not been released. 

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers said the driver that struck the pedestrian stayed on scene.
