Twelve people charged in a nationwide college admissions bribery ring are expected to appear in a Boston federal courthouse on Monday, multiple national outlets report.

Among those set to appear are athletics coaches from Wake Forest, Georgetown, UCLA and the University of Southern California.

Federal prosecutors allege that dozens of wealthy people, including actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, paid thousands of dollars — in some cases, hundreds of thousands of dollars — to the Edge College & Career Network in order to get their children into elite colleges and universities.

The network, run by William "Rick" Singer, would then either forge entrance test results or pay college athletic departments to recruit the children of those who paid him. The prospective students would often be cut from the team or quit soon after arriving on campus.

Another 23 people charged in the scandal will appear in court on Friday. Loughlin and Huffman are slated to appear in court in April.
