GEORGETOWN, Ky — Toyota has announced it is extending its manufacturing shutdown for two additional weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Toyota now estimates that work will resume on April 20.
The company previously announced a 10-day manufacturing shutdown on March 18 in order to ensure social distancing and protect the health of its employees.
Toyota's shutdown order applies to all of its manufacturing plants in North America, including plants in Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, Mississippi, Texas and West Virginia.
