Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted a video on the streets of Ukraine Friday.

The video shows Zelenskyy with several other men. He reportedly says, “We are here. We are in Kyiv. We are defending Ukraine.”

The video is an apparent attempt to stifle Russian disinformation that said Zelenskyy fled the country.

The video was posted hours after Zelenskyy released a video address to the country. In the video, he said he "target No. 1" of Russians who have entered Kyiv, The New York Times reported.

The White House said Friday that it continues to stay in touch with Zelenskyy, but would not offer details about his safety or security.

Speaking in Ukrainian, Zelenskyy said 137 Ukrainians had been killed. The total included members of the military and civilians.

While nations have condemned Russia's invasion and continue to provide Ukraine with intelligence and weapons, Zelenskyy lamented that Ukraine has been left to fight alone.

“Who is ready to fight alongside us? I don’t see anyone. Who is ready to give Ukraine a guarantee of NATO membership? Everyone is afraid,” Zelenskyy said, according to The Times of Israel.

The U.S. has said it will not send troops into Ukraine. However, it is sending troops to NATO countries to deter further escalation.
