INDIANAPOLIS — The head of the state Democratic Party called on the Indiana Election Division and inspector general to investigate Governor Eric Holcomb, over two private flights.

The controversy began with an Indianapolis Star report that showed Holcomb took two flights from the owner of two Indiana casinos.

That man has been lobbying for changes to the state’s gambling law that would benefit his businesses.

"Indiana Democrats are holding our officials at the Statehouse accountable, that no one in government should be above the rules,” Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody said. “They need to come clean transparent and accountable to the people who elected them.”

In response to Zody’s call for an investigation, Holcomb’s press secretary said the governor has followed all laws regarding the disclosure of gifts.
