INDIANAPOLIS — Polls closed at 6 p.m. for the 2022 Primary Election in Indiana.
This year, races included U.S. Senate, U.S. Representative, state representative and a lot of races specific to your county, like judge, sheriff and trustee.
A number of school districts also had referendums on the ballot.

Greg Garrison has defeated incumbent Lee Buckingham in the race for Hamilton County Prosecutor. The vote was 13,551 to 9,411.
Some voters have criticized Buckingham’s office in recent years for not prosecuting specific cases including a rape case and a home improvement fraud case.

Edinburgh Community School Corporation Superintendent Ron Ross has released the following statement on an operating referendum:
"We worked together to remain consistent, accessible and transparent throughout this very public campaign to garner the support of residents of our Edinburgh Community Schools.
"There are many to thank and I want to make sure that we recognize the hard work of our volunteers, the vision of our School Board and the commitment of our community to support our students and our teachers.
Tonight, voters in our community invested in our future. We will remain transparent in the use of the referendum dollars approved tonight. We look forward to continuing to preserve one of Indiana's most historic and storied school districts."

The race for Hendricks County Sheriff has been called. The winner is Jack Sadler with 9,677 votes. Dave Galloway placed second with 2,598 votes and Terry Judy in third with 798 votes.

Several races have been called by the Associated Press.

- State Senate District 25 (Democrat) — Winner: Tamie Dixon-Tatum
- State Senate District 25 (Republican) — Winner: Mike Gaskill
- State Representative District 65 (Republican) — Winner: Chris May (incumbent)

Perry Township schools released the following statement on an operating referendum.
"Preliminary results indicate a win for Perry Township Schools. The district is grateful for the results of this election. We are encouraged by the YES vote. It means the community understands the importance of quality education. We consider the YES vote a win-win for not just the students, teachers and staff, but the community as a whole. Strong Schools means Strong Community!
Perry Township Schools will continue to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars. A heartfelt thank you to everyone in Perry Township: those who voted for the referendum and those who did not. We are deeply grateful for your support!"

Seven voters at one polling location in Carroll County had to receive a provisional ballot and weren't able to vote on the machines because a poll book wasn't cleared from the previous election, according to the county election board.
