INDIANAPOLIS — Abortion-rights groups rallied Tuesday afternoon to protest recent abortion bans across the United States, sharing stories and experiences of their lives.

The ACLU and Planned Parenthood co-hosted the rally at the Indiana Statehouse.

Women, men and children came from across the state came to voice their concerns over the new laws and show support for abortion rights.

Many, like Hoosier Nancy Vessell, brought signs and posters supporting women and abortion rights. Vessell’s sign read, “If you cut off my reproductive choice…. Can I cut off yours?”

"I was shocked that after Roe v. Wade that this would still be an issue,” she said. “It's been decided. To roll back women's rights is a travesty of justice. People who can't afford to travel to faraway places will be impacted much more than the rich, wealthy people. I support the right for people to have access to it if they really need it."

The protesters also spoke out against an Indiana bill recently signed into law that would ban a commonly used second-trimester abortion procedure. The ACLU has sued to stop the law from going into effect.
