INDIANAPOLIS – Members of the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus announced their Justice Reform Agenda, which they will work toward during the 2021 legislative session.
The five pillars of the caucus’ agenda are save lives, hold accountable, empower communities, change culture and improve transparency.
The agenda was created after town halls, meetings with stakeholders, law enforcement and other legislative leaders.
Some of the specific law changes the IBLC will work toward next year include:
- Ban no-knock warrants
- Develop inclusive hate-crimes law
- Enhanced penalties for shootings involving officers
