INDIANAPOLIS — A comparison of two maps show the stark difference between the 2015 Indianapolis municipal election and the 2019 one.
To create the maps, RTV6 analyzed precinct-by-precinct results from both elections. We added straight ticket votes with the candidates’ votes, then subtracted the Republican total from the Democratic total.
The data was placed on a -800 to 800 scale for each precinct, so a result of -300 would mean the Republican candidate received 300 more votes than Hogsett in a given area.
In both, Hogsett came away the winner by a double-digit margin.
