INDIANAPOLIS — We're less than a month away from when sports betting will be legal in Indiana, but when will it be available? Under the new measure passed by state lawmakers this year, sports wagering will be legal on Sept. 1.
More than a handful of operators have said you'll be able to place a bet in early September.
But a representative with the Indiana Gaming Commission said Wednesday some operators still have a lot of work to do before they can allow bets.
The IGC is still waiting on some internal controls procedures, house rules and the results of certification testing, the representative said.
What this means for you - some casinos or online operators may allow bets in early September, but others may not be ready.
