The department on Thursday announced the release of its traffic stop dashboard. The web-based portal gives uses the opportunity to see statistics, including the number of warnings and citations issued. Police said the dashboard will be updated monthly and will enable citizens to monitor traffic stop activity of the department's officers throughout the year. The dashboard was created in collaboration with KSM Consulting, who worked with a community focus group to determine the desired content.
"The addition of the dashboard is part of our ongoing effort to ensure transparency to the public," the department said in a statement. "We realize that today, more than ever, it is important for police departments to be more transparent and open to the communities they serve. Last year we updated our website by making all of our department policies forward facing. We also update the website with quarterly reports on our uses of force, complaints and pursuits."
