LOGANSPORT — Law enforcement officers in Logansport are still looking for a man considered armed and dangerous after shots were fired during a domestic situation Wednesday morning, according to state police.

They are looking for Demacio Hernandez Martinez, 44, described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and last seen wearing dark clothing, Indiana State Police Sgt. Tony Slocum said in a press release.

He ran away from a home around 9 a.m. on Pottawatomie Road when officers were called to investigate the incident, Slocum said. No one inside the home was injured when shots were fired.

Officers from several agencies searched for Martinez, but haven't been able to find him, Slocum said. He is wanted on a warrant for intimidation, criminal recklessness, and battery on a person under 14 years of age.

Logansport schools were placed on lockdown "in an abundance of caution," Slocum said. Extra officers were assigned to schools during dismissal.

At approximately 11:10 a.m. we were immediately notified by Logansport Police Department to implement our safe school...
