McCORDSVILLE — A statewide Silver Alert issued Sunday for a McCordsville man who had been reported missing is canceled now that he has been found safe.
Wayne Hurd, 44, was found about 9:30 p.m. in Indianapolis, according to McCordsville police Sgt. Aaron Watts. He was transported to a local hospital as a precaution due to pre-existing medical condition.
"Mr. Hurd is safe and no injuries were reported," Watts said.
Hurd had last been seen Saturday afternoon in McCordsville. The Silver Alert was canceled about 10 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators believe Watts wandered from his home. He is part of Project Lifesaver. This most recent Silver Alert was the second issued for Hurd in less than a month.
"McCordsville PD has been working (and will continue) with state agencies such as the Family and Social Services Administration and Adult Protective Services to develop a better care plan for his medical and mental health needs," Watts said.
Police asked anyone with more information to contact 317-477-4400 or 911.
