HENRY COUNTY — Two people escaped from a Henry County correctional facility on Wednesday, police said.
According to information from the Henry County Sheriff's Office, two inmates escaped at 9:45 p.m. from the Henry County Transition Center, a minimum security facility used to house inmates classified with a minimum risk level.
The inmates escaped through an unsecured door as staff members conducted a security check in the dorm, a news release said.
One of the inmates was captured a few blocks away, but a second, Jacob Vanpelt, remains at large as of Thursday morning.
Vanpelt was held on multiple drug charges.

In addition to the Henry County Sheriff's Office, troops with Indiana State Police and officers from the New Castle Police Department are involved in the search.
Anyone who sees Vanpelt is asked to call 911 immediately.
