WESTFIELD — Westfield High School was on a lockdown Monday morning after a threat was made.
The threat was made at about 11 a.m., according to an email released to parents and staff.
“We immediately sheltered in place and contacted the Westfield Police Department,” the email states. “The police secured the building and are currently investigating the situation. All students, staff and building personnel are safe.”
A followup notice from the Westfield Police Department states there was no shooting or any act of violence at the school and there were no weapons found.
No further information was given about the threat or the reason for the lockdown.
