A day after New York City received its first Ebola patient, New Jersey health officials are monitoring a woman who developed a fever after flying from West Africa, the Associated Press reported.
The news came the same day as New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo made a joint announcement that healthcare workers coming to New Jersey or New York would be placed under a mandatory quarantine for 21 days.
The woman in question arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport from West Africa on Friday, according to the AP. The woman did not experience symptoms at the airport but was placed under quarantine and later developed a fever.
On Thursday, Craig Spencer was diagnosed with Ebola in New York City. Spencer, a physician working with Doctors Without Borders, had been treating Ebola patients in West Africa.
