INDIANAPOLIS — It's certainly a sight for sore eyes.

The scaffolding is gone and the stairs are open again at the Indiana War Memorial in Downtown Indy.

After roughly two years, restoration work is complete. The Indiana War Memorials Commission says crews made repairs to the Pyramidal Roof, which meant replacing and restoring granite and limestone,a tricky process.

The entire project cost $2.9 million to complete and took a bit longer than first estimated.
