DUBOIS COUNTY — Multiple boats caught fire Friday morning at the Hoosier Hills Marina at Pakota Lake, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
According to a report from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, 22 boats were damaged or destroyed during the fire.
Indiana Conservation Officers were called around 8:45 a.m. Friday on report of smoke from a boat in the "A" dock.
During the investigation, it was determined that after the fire started efforts were made by Hoosier Hills Marina staff to put out the fire. Two boats were moved from the docks, creating a fire break.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshal.
Investigators have not released information about the possible cause of the fire and the amount of damage.
