INDIANAPOLIS — The second influenza-related death of the season in Indiana has been reported.
The influenza report for the week ending Dec. 18 from the Indiana State Department of Health reported the additional death and shows flu activity remains minimal.
The second person to die of influenza this year was between 50 and 64 years old, according to the report.
At least 559 people have reported influenza-like illnesses this season at outpatient facilities in the state, according to data from the U.S. Outpatient Influenza-like Illness Surveillance Network in the report.
In the report for the week ending Nov. 14, the first death was reported. The person was 65 years old or older.
