BRAZIL, Ind. -- Located about 60 miles southwest of Indianapolis, Brazil, Indiana was recently named Indiana's poorest town.
According to a study from 247WallSt.com, Brazil has the lowest median annual household income in Indiana.
Brazil has a median household income of $29,531, slightly more than half of Indiana's median household income of $50,433.
About 31 percent of households in Brazil used food stamps or SNAP benefits in the past 12 months, well above the average statewide rate of 12.2 percent.
