Internet safety advocates are urging Disney to enforce copyright claims against "hardcore Disney-themed porn."
The non-profit group Enough is Enough claims a Google search for "Disney-themed porn" turns up more than 12.6 million results, and it's worried the mass proliferation of such material on the Internet could be harmful to children.
Enough is Enough was founded in 1992 as part of the anti-pornography movement. With the widespread adoption of the Internet, the group moved its focus toward online porn – in particularly child pornography.
In a petition posted on CitizenGo.org last week, the group is urging Disney to take "aggressive action" to "protect their princesses and our children."
The Internet's tendency to turn otherwise child-themed characters into pornographic images isn't limited just to Disney princesses. Earlier this year, Kellogg's cartoon cereal spokesman Tony the Tiger tweeted from his official account (or, at least a company employee did) asking for people to keep the things they tweeted at him "family friendly." Translation: Stop sending Tony the Tiger "furry" porn.
I’m all for showing your stripes, feathers, etc. But let’s keep things gr-r-reat – & family-friendly if you could. Cubs could be watching ?

As Enough is Enough notes in its petition, the organization has been asking Disney to do something about all the porn based on its intellectual property for nearly two decades.
The petition had 3,300 signatures as of Monday afternoon, and was hoping to receive 5,000.
