German astronaut Alexander Gerst shot an incredible super high-definition time lapse from the International Space Station. The footage, released Tuesday, features auroras, sunrises, spaceships and a lot of “whoa.”
Gerst set up the cameras to shoot automatically while he was doing experiments on robotic surgery, vaccines and more during a six month mission with the European Space Agency called Blue Dot.
He returned to Earth on Nov. 10.
