INDIANAPOLIS — From canceled internships to summer jobs that are no longer available, many college students' summer plans have been impacted by COVID-19.
The University of Indianapolis shared a list of things students can do this summer to help propel their future careers.
Stephanie Dietz, associate director of UIndy's Professional Edge Center, said students can expect to be asked in upcoming job interviews what they did in the summer of 2020. That's why they are working with their students to encourage and inspire them to do something this summer instead of nothing.
Some of those things include attending virtual job fairs, working on resumes, working an essential job and so much more.
"One thing that anyone can do is set a goal and achieve it over the summer," Dietz said. "I think employers and schools appreciate the idea that of someone who can set a lofty goal and meet it."
Dietz said the current situation still has a lot of students in shock and they are working together to make the summer worthwhile.
