East side Indianapolis Family Dollar covered in trash

INDIANAPOLIS — An RTV6 viewer reached out and sent pictures of an east side business covered in trash, on Monday.

The viewer sent us a video (above) with all types of trash outside of a Family Dollar at the intersection of Mitthoeffer Road and 30th Street.

We took our camera down to see for ourselves and found glass bottles, multiple empty oil cans and trash lying just a few feet away from a creek that runs nearby.

One person told RTV6 off camera that it's always like that.

"It looks like a big trash can," the woman in the video said.

Since November, three reports have been made to the Mayor's Action Center. And each time the case has been closed by the city.

RTV6 reached out to Family Dollar and a spokesman said they were looking into it.

"This is a multi billion dollar business and this is how they keep their grounds - disgusting."

While filming the trash, we saw two people show up with trash bags and start to clean up the mess.
