HAMILTON CO. — The COVID-19 restrictions over the last year have impacted every Hoosier restaurant and, in an effort, to get folks to support local restaurants Hamilton County Tourism is hosting the Great Dine Out through the month of January.
The premise is simple, visit participating restaurants in the area and receive a discount on your purchase. Once you visit five places, you are entered to win a $25 gift card.
"Schoolhouse 7 Café" in Fishers is one of the participating locations and GM Crystal Clotfelter said she is touched that the county is backing local restaurants.
Clotfelter said it’s because of their customers they were able to stay open throughout 2020.
“So, our word of the pandemic has been to pivot, so we were just learning different ways to make sure our customers are taken care of; we take pride in our customer service we've been very blessed by all of you guys to remain open during the whole pandemic,” said Clotfelter.
She said the blessings keep coming as Hamilton County Tourism has started and created the Great Dine Out.
“We know this is a really challenging time, and we want to applaud all of the servers and wait staff and back of house staff who are working their tails off to keep their businesses open,” said Katie Utken, who works for Hamilton County Tourism.
She said they started this because restaurant owners said they were worried about getting through January.
“It's a new winter restaurant promotion in Hamilton County going on now through the 31st, and people can take advantage of deals and discounts at almost 40 different local restaurants,” said Utken.
Once you hit five local stops, she said you could win a $25 gift card to another restaurant.
“We have a lot to give away we're going to hope to fulfill as many as possible to make sure people who did all the five check-ins get rewarded so it's while supplies last but we're going to try to do as many as we can,” said Utken.
