INDIANAPOLIS — Residents at the I-70 mobile home park have been waiting for a court hearing Tuesday to determine if they can stay in their homes after the owners of the park said they were evicting them.

For residents like Jeff Melton, they are still trying to figure out what to do while they wait for the lawsuit to play out in court.

"Well, when I see somebody moving their mobile home out of here I sit back and think boy, 'I wish that was mine moving out and going somewhere, so that my worries, I'm worry free,'" Melton said. "Because right now I'm worrying."

Melton will be in court to see if he will get any answers from the Blue Lakes Inc., the park's owner, and says he has a simple request.

"Well to be honest with you, I'm not gonna lie, I hope that we get a little more of an extension and that the courts have a little compassion for us because here it is the holidays coming up," Melton said. "You've got Thanksgiving, you've got Christmas, and here it is now it's snowing, and you can't move a mobile home they won't do it."
