INDIANAPOLIS — A stolen vehicle was found, but it's still challenging a Johnson County agency to find a way to get seniors to their critical services.
This is not just any vehicle; it's a mobile bridge connecting those with no transportation to vital services like their doctor's appointments.
The Johnson County Senior Services van was stolen on July 11 while dropping a patient off and the key was left in the ignition. When the van was recovered, the interior was found in horrible conditions and unfit for people to ride.
Indianapolis based company, Moore Restoration, donated the muscle power and machinery to clean up the van so people can use it once again.
Even after all of the work Moore Restoration did, the van will be out of service for a while. The vehicle needs a new key system, and it is presumed that the thief — still on the loose —has the key to the van.
