INDIANAPOLIS — As thousands of educators and their supporters get ready for the Red For Ed rally on Tuesday, ralliers are encouraged to ditch their cars to get there.

Lesley Gordon, who works for IndyGo, says Tuesday could be one of the busiest days for for the Red Line.

“We’re just asking that you give us a little extra time and plan extra time in your travel,” Gordon said.

The parking spots you may be used to parking in near the Statehouse won't be open Tuesday and if you park there, your car may be towed.

Taking the Red Line is one of the options the Indiana State Teachers Association is recommending for people to get to the Statehouse. There’s a bus stop right outside the Statehouse

"You might use the app MyStop to look at real time updates on when buses are expected to arrive," Gordon said.

Food trucks will be across the street from the Statehouse.

Indiana State Police is partnering with several law enforcement agencies for the event to ensure everyone stays safe.

ISP First Sgt. Ron Galaviz is reminding people, "if you see something, say something."
