INDIANAPOLIS — A shopping center on the east side of Indianapolis has reopened and is full of local businesses ready to serve the community.

Kyle Lewis, the owner of Indy Vintage, is just one of the 27 businesses inside The W Street Shopping Center. The center, near East Washington Street and North Post Road, was built by businessman Caleb Paddack.

"I'm born and raised on the east side and I love what Caleb is doing with the east side," Lewis said. "I mean the east side needs this."

Paddack turned the former flea market into a shopping center with something for everyone.

"We have everything from collectible shops, to yoga studios to photography studios," Paddack said. "The cereal bar, CBD oil, barbershops, hair salons, nail salons. I mean if you need it, we probably got it."

Lewis says the shopping center helps small business owners cut back on start up and operational costs. He pays $450 a month, or $1 a square foot for the space.

Paddack is confident the low lease costs will help the east side community.

"You're investing in the people ultimately because as a business owner you're putting your trust in the neighborhood to support you because with the people watching this program and people coming to this shopping center we won't make it."
