MARTINSVILLE — A business in Martinsville is trying to help other local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

DG Graphics is giving away free signs to other small businesses so they can let its customers know they are still open.

“These restaurants are just mom and pop shops like me and I wanted to do something to try to help out,” owner Deric Gayde said.

After seeing a sign from a friend in Illinois reading dine in closed, curbside pick up available, and gift cards available, Gayde says he asked his friend if he would share the file so he could start printing.

The signs were shared with another local business owner, a few in South Carolina and a some in Las Vegas.

All of the owners are printing the sings with the hopes of helping make this new normal easier to understand and letting the public know how they can continue to support small businesses.

“We all have families we all have to pay our bills," Gayde said. "These restaurants they have employees, they have families so, to give back to them to make sure they still do it we still eat there, you know, we all just kind of want to work together.”

If you are business owner who would like a sign or the file to help give other small business owners signs, you can contact DG Graphics on social media or on its website.
