SHELBYVILLE — The Shelbyville community helped twin girls celebrate their sweet 16 Thursday.

Brooke and Taylor Dennis weren't able to have a big party due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so family, friends, strangers, and the Shelbyville Fire Department all drove by the their house, honking horns and sending the teen's birthday wishes.

Taylor says it was nice to be able to see their family since they normally spend their birthday at their grandmother's house.

"There's a new normal going on right now, I think it's cool that people are doing stuff like this and still saying, 'Happy birthday' to people and having parties and graduations and stuff," Brooke said.
