This is an update to a story RTV6 reported about in March: Franklin restaurant serves over 200 free meals a day to people in need
FRANKLIN — When the stay-at-home order first went into place, many restaurant felt the impact right away and some of them changed their business models to focus on carryout and delivery options.
RTV6 showed you how Richard's Brick Oven Pizza started cooking up warm meals each night in March, and owner, Richard Goss, was going above and beyond, offering free meals to anyone in need.
Goss said thanks to contributions of labor and meals from the community, they have been able to serve more than 7,600 meals to people in need.
About one-fourth of those meals were delivered to seniors in the community with the rest served curbside of Main Street for anyone in need.
On average, Richard's serves more than 200 people a night, between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
You can continue to support this local business by ordering carryout.
