INDIANAPOLIS — A lot of people have to make music at home instead of in their school bands because of the stay-at-home order.
The company that provides instruments for most school band programs in the area is still working to make sure those melodies are in tune.
"Paige's Music" is near east 65th Street and Binford Boulevard, on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
The president of Paige's Music is a longtime musician and current band parent himself. With students unable to be around their friends right now, he says you should encourage them to keep practicing, and maybe you should join in and play alongside them.
"We give the opportunity for the kids to teach the parents how to play ... how to play an instrument. One, that could be a great bonding moment for parent and kid, but then, hey, it's one of those instances where the kid is actually going to be better than the parent," Jeremy McQueary, the owner of Paige's Music, said.
Starting Tuesday, Paige's Music is open to take orders over the phone, email and online for instrument repair and supplies. They're also offering free shipping to homes and contact-free curbside pickup at their store.
