INDIANAPOLIS — A family-owned "ZIP Dry Cleaners" is making changes on the fly to keep their business open and employees paid during the coronavirus crisis.
One change they're making is offering home pick-up and delivery for a small fee.
"The one thing that we started new is that we've launched a delivery service this week. Which is really exciting for us, we just give you one of our easy truck bags, we get you on the route, will come pick your stuff up; you just leave your bag outside," Larry Frutkin, the owner of the ZIPS Dry Cleaner franchise, said. "When we come to drop off will give you a door hanger you don't have to come out; we don't have to have any interaction."
There are two ZIPS locations on the north side of Indianapolis and another under construction in Fishers.

Frutkin decided to add delivery and pick-up services to their business model because he wanted to do everything he could to keep his employees paid.
"Things (were) really going well, and then this happened, which has affected all of us pretty badly," Frutkin said. "So what we're trying to do is keep our doors open most importantly for coworkers, to put some money in their pockets they are the lifeblood of our business."
