INDIANAPOLIS — Kayla Swenson is just like the rest of us right now. She's trying to balance working from home while being a mom, and not getting out as much as she used to.
"Normally we are so used to getting out of the house doing things and being active every day trying to balance giving them activities along with my own mental health which has been a struggle through this pandemic," Swenson said.
Swenson has her hands full with a 4-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son.
"After I had my first daughter at IU Health they had awesome groups for new moms and I joined and that's where I met Cindy," Swenson said.
Swenson has stuck with the groups from newborn into the toddler stage, that's until the COVID-19 restrictions put a pause on group meetings.
Cindy Love has been leading support groups for moms of infants and toddlers at IU Health for two decades.
"Moms need support, they need social interaction with other moms and they need answers to their questions," Love said.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic the meetings used to take place in person.
"The need is still there we just needed to find a creative way to meet that need with our moms," Love said.
Love went the virtual route.

"When she said they were going to virtual I was excited because it brought back an element of normal back into our lives," Swenson said.
