JOHNSON COUNTY — The Better Together campaign is bringing people together in Johnson County.
The group, using Zoom, has set up a daily calendar of activities presented by local people sharing their skills to keep people in a routine and mentally healthy.
"How can we engage in a natural entertaining way while having access to other people," Better Together co-founder Emily Davis said.
Davis plays uses her viola to play daily concerts, while Dee Woods leads a yoga class and Heather Tallman provides cooking demonstrations.
"Then at the end we check back to see if there's anybody we want to pray for or anyone we want to put in our thoughts. And then sometimes I get off and they want to chat," Woods said. "They want that community. They miss seeing each other. I let them hangout in the Zoom room and be together."
The goal is to use technology to bring joy to the world, no strings attached.
