INDIANAPOLIS — Stadium food has come a long way from hot dogs and plain nachos. The Colts are putting their chefs to work in bringing some upscale flavors to Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts home opener is next Sunday, and the team is giving fans a wide variety of new food options for the new season.

Centerplate showed off some of the new food on the 'Hoosier Menu' on Thursday. The Hoosier Menu uses a lot of its ingredients from all over Indiana.

Executive chef, Shime Adem, is originally from Ethiopia. Adem's has a diverse team that is bringing their native flavors to the table.

The final menu includes some very familiar Midwestern fare — with a twist.

"We (are) trying to stay regional and local," Adem said. "Taking the regional food to the next level, like the pork and duck. Any Indiana item, we take it to the next notch up."

"Fans here aren't looking for the traditional game-day eats," Paul Pettas, Centerplate director of communications, said. "We want to represent the best that Indiana has to offer, working with local partners, and bringing local suppliers. make sure our menus represent Indiana and true Midwest cuisine."

Here are some of the new items (press play to give them a look in the video above):
