BLOOMINGTON — The Hoosiers were held to just three points in the overtime period as Illinois escapes Bloomington with a 75-71 win.
Against the #12 Illini, Indiana had a 41-34 halftime lead, and with just over five minutes left in the game, the Hoosiers were up by six. But over the next two minutes, Illinois went on an 8-0 run to grab the lead.
Armann Franklin's basket for IU with 35 seconds left tied the score at 68 and set up the overtime. The Hoosiers would not score their first basket in the extra period until just seven seconds were left.
Trayce Jackson-Davis led Indiana with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Race Thompson had 18 points.
The Hoosiers have lost three of their last four games and are now 9-8 overall and 4-6 in Big Ten play. Illinois is 12-5 for the season and 8-3 in the conference.
