INDIANAPOLIS — A blind combat veteran received an incredible experience Tuesday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

With the help of Indy racing legend Mario Andretti and a West Coast tech startup, Jeff Mittman was able to experience a lap around the famous track.

Mittman was recently named the first blind CEO of Bosma Enterprises, which is a nonprofit organization that helps Hoosiers with blindness and visual impairments.

The Bosma team recently discovered a San Diego tech startup called Aira.

Through a smartphone app or a pair of the company's Horizon Smart Glasses, Aira delivers real-time access to visual information.

This helped Mittman fully experience his ride around the two-and-a-half mile oval with Andretti.
