INDIANAPOLIS — Crews at Indianapolis Motor Speedway are putting the finishing touches on converting the track from a road course back to the oval.
This is about 1,000 hours worth of work; removing fencing, track panels, resetting more than two million pounds of concrete walls and barriers. As well as changing all the signs from the Grand Prix to the Indy 500.
Starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, fans get the chance to see the 36 drivers begin practice. This leads up to qualifying on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets all this week are $15 and will go up to $20 for the weekend.
