INDIANAPOLIS -- IndyCar driver Robert Wickens underwent surgery Monday night for a spinal injury he suffered Sunday in a violent crash at Pocono Raceway.
He suffered injuries to his lower extremities, right arm and spine in the crash.

Robert Wickens is awake and alert. He has been transported by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
