INDIANAPOLIS — The Indy 500 is a blast. Getting there can test your patience. However, there are more ways than ever to get to the track on race day.
There are a lot of options for transportation to the track this year, and one way is by scooter. Indianapolis Motor Speedway is working is working with Lime scooter to provide a spot at the corner of 10th Street and Allison Way as scooter parking and the track is only a 10-minute walk.
One thousand additional Lime scooters have been deployed across Indianapolis for race weekend. If you choose to ride a scooter to the track, Lime will replace the low charge scooters dropped at the designated spot with ones that are fully charged so you have a dependable ride after the race.
Another way to avoid the traffic is by joining the annual Bike to the 500 event. The police-escorted ride cuts through the bumper-to-bumper cars and riders park right outside Gate One.
If you choose not to drive and go with Uber or Lyft, check ahead. Uber will allow riders to reserve a car in advance of the race.
And if scootering or biking isn't your style, there are a ton of shuttle services available for a price of around $30 or more.
