The Indy Fuel announced Wednesday that inaugural season home games for the ECHL expansion team will be shown live on HTSN and RTV6.
Most of the Fuel's 36 home games at the Fairgrounds Coliseum will be shown on HTSN, a 24-7 news, sports and weather channel available over the air or on cable.
Key matchups, such as the Fuel's home opener against the Fort Wayne Komets, will be broadcast live on RTV6.
RTV6 will also air a 30-minute season preview special.
"We're very pleased to work with RTV6 as our television partner as we open our first season and reignite Indy's passion for pro hockey," Fuel team president Sean Hallett said in a news release. "We wish every fan could be cheering alongside us at the Coliseum for every game, but if you can't come to us, RTV6 will bring the action to you."
"RTV6 and HTSN are proud to welcome professional hockey back to Indianapolis," said Larry Blackerby, vice president and general manager of RTV6 and HTSN. "We're excited to present all 36 Indy Fuel home games for this inaugural season."
The Fuel's season opener is set for Oct. 17.
"It's a new era for professional hockey in our region and a perfect addition to the growing local sports programming already in place on HTSN as well," Blackerby said.
Hallett said RTV6 will help the Fuel build dedicated fans from central Indiana to Chicago, home of the Blackhawks, the Fuel's NHL affiliate.
"Our goal is putting an exciting, competitive team on the ice and delivering the best fan experience possible at the Coliseum," Hallett said. "With partners like RTV6, we aim to deliver the best multimedia experience, too, whether it's watching the games live or catching up later, following the Fuel anytime, anywhere."
