MINNEAPOLIS — A late Minnesota rally was enough to give the Gophers a 71-68 win over the Purdue men in Minneapolis Thursday.

In a game where neither team led by more than seven points, the Boilermakers went up by five with two minutes to go. But Minnesota closed out the game on a 12-4 run. Marcus Carr, who led the Gophers with 19 points, hit a three-pointer for the win with 18 seconds left.

Purdue was hurt by its three point shooting, making just two of 17 attempts from beyond the line.

Trevion Williams led the Boilermakers with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Purdue is now 8-6 in the Big Ten and 13-8 overall.

Minnesota improves to 6-7 in conference play and 13-7 overall.
